We look forward to connecting.Rating 1.0January 17, 2024Context: Have been getting oil changes at this location for quite some time now. I received a full synthetic oil change from this location a ~4 months ago. Drove the vehicle ~5600 miles after the oil change and the motor seized up on the side of the interstate. After taking it to Tri-County Ford in Buckner, KY, they told me that the reason for the issue was the drain plug had come lose and fallen onto the skid plate which sits just beneath the engine. Ford Motor Company has stated in their owner's manual that they recommend changing the oil every 7,500-10,000 miles on conventional oil, meaning full synthetic should be even longer.
We, along with the dealership, have contacted Tire Discounters to see what they will do about their faulty and negligent oil change. We were told that because it was ~600 miles over 5,000 miles, still well under the 7,500 recommended by Ford Motor Company, they are not able to cover any amount of the repair cost. They are denying any responsibility for the oil drain plug coming unscrewed, which is interesting considering: 1. the drain plug is inaccessible. 2. The company that produces the car suggest, that if done right oil changes in 7,500-10,000-mile intervals are adequate. 3. Tire Discounters was able to reach this decision in just over 24 hours after being contacted by the servicing dealership.
Overall, I have previously used this location for most of my oil changes, and my father has been using this location since even before Tire Discounters bought it. I can confidently say that we will no longer be doing business with this company, nor will I be recommending it to anyone else as I previously had.Tire DiscountersJanuary 18, 2024We’re sorry we didn’t meet your expectations, Jared. I went to bumper to bumper a couple times to try and find something with no luck and they recommended the gentlemen at Kwik & Gweasy. The staff at K&G was extremely nice and knowledgeable. Steve Battishill took great care of me. The car has aftermarket wheels and the lugs are “key” lugs. He got me a shiny new lug and even sold me the key they had in the shop so I could take the wheels on and off when needed. The key is high quality, and the price was fair! He even gave me some air stem caps for free. I had talked myself into needed all new wheel nuts, but Steve assured me the ones I had were not structurally compromised.
