I was kept advised of the progress, and what was found. I will use a dealer for recommended service intervals. I've had a dealer lie to me about needing brakes in the past. T.D. has always been truthful, and when I had my RAM in, they called and let me know I needed new pads. I trust T.D. enough that I had them replace the pads on that service job. So by time of the appointment no parts had been ordered yet, and even leaving the vehicle there for awhile and came back at the time said to,they were still trying to get the correct parts. And over 2 hours later from that point,and after 230pm I had to get the car out because the entire day had been delayed already. I witnessed multiple appointments that were overbooked, delaying everybody even longer. I have been having issues with Sam’s Club with answering their phone and helping me in person with my tire warranty… they ended up telling me it was the rim not the tire… which was hard to believe. I took my tire to the Hamilton location and let me tell you they helped me out so much… it was a hole in my tire in the side wall. They helped me out so much I will never buy my tires anywhere else now except for TD. They don’t put spare tires in cars anymore… and they are getting me a tire ordered in for next day for my daily driving car with an unbelievable price. Wonderful friendliest service. Once I said something to the customer attendant behind the counter, my car was moved within 5 minutes and serviced (free rotation) within 25 minutes. They were busy and needed more help, possibly my car was overlooked, maybe a combination of both...I understand that my service was not a money maker. Please reference this review.Rating 3.0March 3, 2017I am a fan of Tire Discounters Hamilton, and have been a customer for years. I recently bought a 2001 Tundra with high profile tires. I don't like them but since they came with the truck I'm trying to deal with them. Since I bought the truck there has been noticeable shimmy in the steering wheel above 40 MPH, and the vehicle has pulled right. My wife brought it by for an alignment, and when I went to pick it up I realized she had not asked to have the wheel balanced, which I figured was where the steering wheel vibration was coming from, so I asked to have that done, and it was done at no additional charge. But the tech admitted when he test drove it that the shimmy was gone during the first half of the test drive yet returned during the second half. He pulled it back in the bay and 45 minutes later finally figured out that "balancing beads" had been placed in the tires previously. (Not by TD, obviously, but again I bought the vehicle used). He removed them from one tire and suggested that the other tires should also be addressed. But I didn't have any more time that afternoon, so I left with the truck and brought it back the next morning.
When checking it in the next morning the same tech told me they would have to charge me the mounting and balancing fee for the remaining three tires, which I had no problem with since I doubt the tires were purchased at TD and if they were, not by me. My wife picked the truck up that afternoon.
Bottom line, I can't complain about the service; but, the truck still pulls right and there is still a steering wheel vibration, so my problems weren't fixed. I guess it's just those high profile tires, and maybe the tech just didn't want to tell me it was impossible to balance them, but if the vehicle was test driven someone should have admitted that the work that was done didn't fix the problem.Tire DiscountersApril 13, 2017Bill, thank you for the detailed description about your experience at our West Hamilton store.
