They asked if I wanted to do an alignment if testing showed it was off. I said yes only if necessary. Quoted 186 total if alignment done. Got a call, said battery needed replacing, and if I wanted that it would be 216 total, so I said yes, figuring alignment wasn't done. Got to pick it up, and 1/12 measurements was off on testing alignment - they did the 4 wheel alignment anyway. Then installed a battery (econocraft 65-e) that retails for 111 and charged me 216 for the battery alone, which has only a 3 month warranty, bringing my total to 442. Buyer beware- ask many more questions than I did. I prefer to find a store that is honest in their pricing and customer service upfront. Guess what there was a problem other than the reason i went there for. Go for an oil change? Watch out before you know it you need new tires & a timing belt. I recently had work done to the front end of my car. I bought a set of 4 tires in March and was very happy with the service provided.....until a month ago. However, today, when I simply asked that the technician check these things, an alignment did need done. And instead of asking "hey, you want us to go ahead and take care of that?" they took it upon themselves to just put the car back in line. So when the manager brought my invoice back up to the front desk and informed me that the total amount due was $89, I went ahead and paid it. But, I did so with tears in my eyes. And when I made it to my car, I was sobbing uncontrollably. I just dont understand why they did not ask if I would like the service performed. What if I wouldn't have had the money to pay? I wanted it checked so that I was aware that it needed done, and I could incorporate that into my BUDGET. However, I feel that they may have taken advantage of me, because maybe......I'm a woman? I dont know. The guy at the desk also told me it was WAY out of alignment. However, when I compared the sheet with the variances on it to my previous record of alignment, everything appeared to be within the normal limits. I don't care if my tires are under warranty for another 40,000 miles, I WILL NOT be returning here ever! I have lived in Lexington since 1997 and have not found a shop that has pleased me with more than this one. I could not buy Michelin tires and get an alignment, road hazard and rotation and balancing for less than I paid here. All services performed here were done in a timely manner and at a very competitive price.
If I need to wait I can watch a large tv and if I need to work on m computer they have desk areas with power outlets & usb charging ports as well.Tire DiscountersApril 12, 2017Well this makes us uber excited. Have a great one.Rating 2.0April 2, 2017Got to the shop Thursday at 2 pm exactly after being promised by a sales representative that if I was there by 2pm I would be taken care of within 45 minutes as long as I made the appointment. I planned on driving out of town that day so the timely service promised was one of the main reasons I went to Tire Discounters. I waited for 30 minutes, staring at my car in the parking lot. Just as I was about to get up to leave and cut my losses, a technician pulled my car into the garage. 2 HOURS later my car had 2 new rear tires. I never asked for an alignment or anything of that nature. I simply wanted 2 new tires and to be on my way. I got to my destination nearly 2 hours late because of false promises. I won't be returning to that location and am seriously considering never using Tire Discounters again. I was looking at a more expensive tire but he recommended a cheaper alternative that suites a mini van better. Tires for this car isn't a readily available stock due to factory options.
